1962 Falcon Electric Car Conversion
by Joey
In my reading here I've got the basics: Golf Cart deep cycle batteries, 3 phase AC Induction Motor. I'll try this myself, but would like to talk with someone who has converted a similar aged Ford Product. What's the real dollars on a project like this? Hi, Joey! I went to the EV Photo Album to see if I could find a similar project, and there was Robbie Robinson's 63 Falcon Ranchero EV that he converted with an AC motor and controller, and lithium batteries. If you follow the link, you can find his contact information. He's not talking about how much it cost him, but if it cost less than 30K, I'd be surprised. Electro Automotive sells their light AC conversion kit for just under 10K, and that doesn't include the batteries! Regards, Lynne |
