Batteries for Electric Chevy S10 Conversion

I am building an electric Chevy S10 ExtCab 5 spd w/canopy: What batteries would you recommend? I was thinking in terms of 12 - 12 volt batteries. I need to travel 30km each way to/from work - 60 km total along the Transcanada highway; so I am looking for 100km/h cruising and a few hills etc. Hi, Erik - In your DC conversion (144 volts), I would use 6v batteries to get the range you're looking for. 12v batteries will drain too quickly, especially on the highway.
