Charging an Electric Car with a Wind Turbine

by Winfried
(Oranjestad, Aruba)

1. Is it possible to charge your electric car with a wind turbine, and which type of wind turbine will charge it like overnight? 500 watt, 1 kw, 2 kw etc etc.

2. What gives your car more distance? The motor or the batteries?

3. Are lithium iron phosphate batteries recyclable?

Hi, Win!
Yes, it is possible to charge your electric car with a wind turbine. The guy in the video has a 400w max turbine (28mph winds) called an Air-X.

Two is a trick question. I'm going to go with door number three, the controller. Specifically, the complicated inverter of an AC drive system. I have become convinced that an AC electric car will take you more miles than a DC electric car, all things considered. Lots of people will argue with that, so send in your comments, please; )

Three? Yes, all batteries are recyclable, to the best of my knowledge.

Nice to hear from you again!

Regards,
Lynne
