Freeway-able Electric Car Conversion

by Cameron Freeman
(Modesto, California)

I am considering doing a conversion but don't know what vehicle and components would best suit my needs.
Here are the requirements I need the vehicle to meet.
Range: To and from work 23 miles each way on flat surface.
Speed: Approx 65mph speed limit.
What type of vehicle, motor and quantity of batteries would satisfy these needs? What volt batteries would be best?

Hi, Cameron!
You want an AC system. Check out Eric Tischer's awesome AC conversion! That's him in the video. His AC conversion runs just like a regular car, no problem on the freeway, excellent regenerative braking, and he goes FAST.

The range is a lot better in an AC system, too, because of the control and the regen.

Try it, you'll like it!

Regards,
Lynne
