battery terminal corrosion
by: chris

My golf cart and batteries are 4 years and 3months old. My problem for the past year is I have one battery connection that corrodes. This is the last battery in the set of 6 6volt units.
I clean the corrosion and spray the terminal, connector and nut each time I see corrosion.
My question is what is causing only one connector/terminal to corrode. This corrosion problem happens about every 2-3 months.
Twice the connector corroded and separated from the wire.
When I check each battery I get a reading of 6+ volts and the entire system shows a voltage of 36+ volts.

Hi, Chris -
Move that particular battery to a different location in the set, so you can see if the location is the problem or the battery is the problem.

Maybe there's a drip coming from somewhere, or maybe the battery itself is leaking.

Anyone else, please chime in!

- Lynne
