Plug-in AND Solar Electric Car?

by Mike
(Hortonville, WI)

If I converted a car/truck to electric I would want it to be plug in and/or solar re-chargeable. Is that a major deal to do?

It would seem not, since I could just purchase a correct sized solar panel to charge the electric system of that vehicle, correct? That way I would be "Off-the-grid".

Hi, Mike -
No, it's not a major deal. It's doable, and it's been done! Watch the video above to see how Doug has been doing this for years with his Rav-4 EV.

The solar panels go on the roof of your house, or in an appropriate place in your yard - not on the car itself.

Regards,
Lynne
