Solar Powered Battery Charger

Does having one of those solar collectors on the roof of your electric car really help extend the range? There's no place to plug in at work, and I just need a few more miles out of my batteries.

How heavy are they, and how much do they cost?

Hi, Karen!

Colorado Auto Connection sells a solar powered battery charger that you can put on top of your electric car to extend the range.

It's 32 pounds, around $2,000, and they say it will extend your range by 5 miles on a sunny day.

Regards,
Lynne
